We certainly can't quibble with an entry-level engine like the Edge's. This turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder, good for a healthy 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, teams with a six-speed automatic transmission and is served up standard on every trim but the top-tier Sport.
We'd also note that the base four-banger is especially frugal when had in front-drive form. So equipped, the Edge achieves 24 mpg combined (20 city/30 highway).
