GOAT Mode Guide: Mastering Snow and Ice in Your Ford Bronco

2025 Ford Bronco Raptor SUV

The Ford Bronco is easily identifiable on the road with its commanding style and iconic status. More than offering enviable good looks, the nameplate is synonymous with rugged functionality. One of the unique features of the Bronco is its terrain management system, which is known at G.O.A.T. mode. This acronym stands for “goes over any terrain,” and it is aptly fitting for the Bronco's capabilities.

The Bronco's G.O.A.T. Modes

There are eight G.O.A.T. modes available. The Normal setting is ideal for your everyday commute through town, and the Eco mode enhances fuel efficiency. When you're driving over slick surfaces, turn on the Slippery mode to minimize slippage. The Sand mode helps you navigate through loose surfaces, such as sand or gravel. If you turn on the Mud/Ruts mode, your Bronco will help you get out of a jam with more wheelspin. Rock Crawl should be used at very low speeds to help you conquer steep inclines and rocky surfaces. If you plan to take your Bronco across dunes, the Baja mode allows you to navigate at high speeds in the desert.

Selecting a G.O.A.T. Mode

Engaging your desired terrain management mode is easy to do. Simply turn the G.O.A.T. dial to your preferred mode. You'll see the drive mode setting on the dashboard change. While some modes automatically switch to low-range four-wheel drive, you have the option to make the change manually as well.
