What's New for the 2023 Ford Escape?

The Ford Escape has maintained its appeal to compact crossover shoppers for several decades, and it will raise the bar in 2023 with several thoughtful improvements. From your first look at the 2023 Escape at Fort Mill Ford, you will notice that the front and rear have been restyled for a modernized look. The grille has an elongated, hexagonal shape with a radiating mesh pattern on the nose. Below the grille, the thin fascia is supported by a thick, metallic accent bar. The foglight ports are smaller and are mounted vertically. The headlights are angled with sharp corners, and light LED accentuation. At the 2023 Escape's rear, the headlights and foglights angle outward for a contemporary, athletic touch.

The Ford Escape's trim options have also changed for the 2023 model year. The Active, the PHEV, the ST-Line, the ST-Line Select, the ST-Line Elite, and the Platinum follow the Escape's base trim level. The lower powertrains, except the PHEV, have a turbo 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This gas engine is associated with an eight-speed auto transmission and is available with either all-wheel or front-wheel drive. The PHEV links a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter gas system to an electric motor for 192 combined horsepower. It comes with front-wheel drive only and a CVT. A hybrid engine is available with the top trims, and this 201-horsepower engine includes an electric motor with a four-cylinder gas engine. It has an all-electric range of 37 miles.

The available features in the carryover trims have juggled slightly in the current model year. In addition, the Sync 4 infotainment system is introduced, and it comes with a larger touch display screen. At the 2023 Escape's base trim level, you can use wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless internet connection, a six-speaker sound system, an 8-inch touch display screen, forward collision mitigation, lane keeping, and other equipment. Higher Escape trims also have a power liftgate, USB ports, a heated and leather-covered steering wheel, a 13.2-inch touch display screen, adaptive cruise control, a navigation system, and several other features.
