2020 Ford F-150 vs 2020 RAM 1500

Serving Fort Mill, SC

A host of new features await fans of the legendary Ford F-150 to make the world-famous truck more appealing than ever, including more driver-assist aids than before, a now-standard WiFi hotspot, and new appearance packages for select trims. The Ford competes with the 2020 RAM 1500, which it surpasses in style, performance, and interior design.

Performance

If there's a truck that can handle it all, the 2020 Ford F-150 is it. The 2020 F-150 is equipped with substantial payload capacities and sheer power that make it a leader in the pack. The 2020 F-150 is available with several engines, including a fuel-conscious engine with EcoBoost technology. At a minimum, the 2020 F-150 gets a commendable 3.3L gasoline engine with six cylinders. This engine has a power output of 290 HP, which is more than enough to get you through a busy workday. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Additional engines include a 2.7L V6 that produces 325 HP, a 5.0L V8 that generates 395 HP and 400 LB-FT of torque, a 3.5L V6 with turbo power that turns out 375 HP and 470 LB-FT of torque, and a range-topping V6 that produces 450 HP and 510 LB-FT of torque. A diesel V6, offered on select trims, creates 350 HP and 440 LB-FT of torque. The most powerful gasoline engine you can get with the RAM 1500, in contrast, offers less than 400 HP and 410 LB-FT of torque. There are fewer engine choices altogether with this truck.

Features & Amenities

While the 2020 Ford F-150 certainly packs plenty of power, that's not all that the truck offers. Inside, its cabin is designed for comfort and luxury with a variety of enjoyable amenities. The base trim includes delights such as trailer sway control and pre-wiring for all your trailer connections. Manually-operated doors and windows are part of the base package, too. An eight-inch infotainment system with Ford's own Sync 3 interface, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay are included starting with the second trim. WiFi is standard at all levels. The higher-end trims get additional luxuries, including leather seats and dual-zone climate control, for a plush and comfortable ride across the board. With the RAM 1500, you won't find as many standard conveniences at any of the trim levels. Furthermore, only the Ford comes equipped with advanced safety aids.

Style

While the 2020 Ford F-150 has a standout interior, it also has a sharp-looking outer shell that distinguishes it from the rest. The Ford F-150 gets attractive alloy wheels and chrome accents, starting with the XLT. This year, consumers can enjoy several new appearance options with select trims, too, including the XL, XLT, and Lariat. The Raptor, which is the top trim level, gets its off-road design complete with a sturdy reinforced frame, skid plates, flared fenders, and durable off-road tires. The RAM 1500, in comparison, doesn't have as many innovative options to give it an impressive appearance.
