2021 Ford F-150 vs 2020 Ford F-150

Serving Fort Mill, SC

The Ford F-150 gets many changes, additions, and refreshments from the 2020 to the 2021 model year. The 2021 F-150 is the most innovative F-150 to date with one of its class's largest touchscreen interfaces. It also offers a hybrid mechanical system for the first time. The F-150 gets some styling changes to match its new amenities as well, with a more contoured exterior taking the place of the F-150's traditionally more boxy design. The F-150 has class-leading technology in 2021 and a re-imagined interior designed to make the most extended road trips more relaxing with reclining seats in the back row and thoughtful storage spaces throughout the cabin. Hands-free driving capability is another feature added to the Ford F-150 for the 2021 year.

While the 2020 and 2021 F-150 both have strong performance ratings, the 2021 F-150 takes the truck's power credentials a step further. In 2021, the F-150 has a new option for consumers, which is an electric powertrain. The electric mechanical system pairs the available V6 engine from 2020, which produces an impressive HP of 375, with an electric motor powered by a battery. The electric motor adds nearly 50 HP to the engine's power output. The system provides the F-150 with about 700 miles in range and impressive towing ratings. The base engine is the same in 2020 and 2021, and a diesel engine is available in both years that generates 440 LB-FT in torque for maximal towing strength.

In 2021, the Ford F-150 gets a more contemporary design to match its new powertrain and updated interior. The exterior of the F-150 gets more chrome accents in 2021 for a more upscale look. Ford's logo is prominently featured in the large front grille, and the F-150 also comes with highly visible LED headlights. As with 2020, some features are trim-specific for the 2021 F-150, including additional chrome accents and alloy wheels on the XLT and more off-road features on the Raptor trim.

A variety of features are standard for the Ford F-150 in 2021, including a larger 8-inch touchscreen display. There’s also an available 12-inch touchscreen display. Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system is standard in 2020, but the 2021 F-150 upgrades to the latest Sync 4. The 2021 Ford F-150 adds Ford's Co-Pilot360 safety suite of advanced driver aids to all trim levels, and it comes with hands-free driving technology for the first time.
