2023 Ford F-150 vs 2022 Ford F-150

Serving Fort Mill, SC

The full-size Ford F-150 has been a solid pick for truck shoppers in the Fort Mill area and beyond over the last several decades. Its 14th generation, released in 2021 brought bold updates to this popular, powerful model. Ford has continued to innovate improvements to the F-150 since that time. You should be aware of a few exciting updates to the 2023 F-150 before making your new truck selection.

Performance

The primary differences between the 2022 Ford F-150 and the 2023 model year are under the hood. The 2023 model year brings the top-of-the-line Raptor R to the trim lineup. With this trim, you can experience 700 horsepower from a V8, supercharged 5.2-liter engine. The Raptor R also has adaptive Fox shock absorbers with an off-roading suspension. In addition, the base XL trim is now available with the Rattler off-road package. This package includes all-terrain tires, a front differential, a transfer case, and a few more skid plates. Six other powertrains continue to be offered as well. These range from the base 3.3-liter, V6, 290-horsepower engine to the hybrid, V6, turbo 3.5-liter engine that delivers 430 combined horsepower.

Appearance

If you opt for the all-new Raptor R trim, your Ford F-150 will have trim-specific fender flares, 17-inch alloy wheels, and 35-inch all-terrain tires. The overall design of the F-150, however, is unchanged from 2022 to 2023. This truck has a commanding presence, a strong, boxy profile, and a large grille across its tall nose. This chrome-accented grille sits between tall, LED-banded headlights and above a beefy bumper. Across the lower sides, the thick definition adds a premium touch. Select trims add exterior features like foglights, power-adjusting and heated side mirrors, power-folding mirrors, a trailer hitch, rain-sensing wipers, and other gear.

Features

The Ford F-150's features are unchanged between these two model years. The base trim has gear like keyless entry, vinyl flooring, a Sync 4 infotainment system, an 8-inch display screen, smart device app connections, lane departure, and forward collision mitigation. The more advanced F-150 trims may add carpeted flooring, voice controls for the infotainment system, a blind-spot monitor, lane keeping, rear automatic braking, leather seating, ambient cabin lighting, a larger display screen, a dual-zone climate control system, and many other modern features.
