2024 Ford Edge vs 2024 Ford Explorer
Serving Fort Mill, SC
In your search for a new Ford crossover, options like the Edge and the Explorer may capture your attention. The two-row 2024 Ford Edge is the smaller and more affordable of these two options. Both vehicles have extensive appeal, popular features, modern styles, and solid engineering. You can rely on our auto sales team at Fort Mill Ford to help you learn about these models.
Performance
The first four of the five trims for the Ford Edge come with a 250-horsepower, turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. An eight-speed auto transmission accompanies this engine. The top Edge ST has a 335-horsepower, 2.7-liter V6 system paired with a seven-speed auto transmission. All trim levels have standard all-wheel drive. The 2024 Ford Explorer has two powertrains as well. The first several trims come with a 300-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder engine. The higher trim levels benefit from a 400-horsepower turbo V6. All Explorer trims have a 10-speed auto transmission. Most trims also have rear-wheel drive with optional all-wheel drive. The Timberline trim, however, has standard all-wheel drive.
Appearance
The 2024 Edge boasts a flowing profile with a flat hood and a boldly curved nose. The sides are sleek with horizontal accents. At the front, the wide, hexagon-like grille pairs with triangular air inlets and wide, pointed headlights. The 2024 Ford Explorer, on the other hand, has deep, angled accents running across the sides and a flat hood and angled pillars. The Explorer’s hexagon grille is larger and is dressed up with a lace-style mesh pattern. The rectangular fog lamps are mounted in triangular ports, and the LED headlights are mounted horizontally.
Features
You will be treated to several of the same features across these Ford crossovers’ trim levels. Some of their shared traits are a Bang & Olufsen sound system, active noise cancellation, leather upholstery, a panoramic glass roof, automated parking assistance, heated seats in the first and second rows, a front-facing camera, driver’s seat memory settings, rain-sensing wipers, a heated steering wheel, remote engine start, a household power outlet, a wireless charging pad and more. The Explorer also has a twin-panel sunroof, massaging front seats, captain’s seats in the second row, wood trim, a digital instrument panel, and several other features.
