What's New for the 2018 Ford Edge?
Since the Ford Edge was initially offered for sale in 2006, it has been a strong contender for severe automotive shoppers. That is a popular compact crossover SUV that provides passenger seating for five adults with ample cargo space in the rear through a liftgate door. Its most recent major overhaul was with the 2015 model year when the second generation was introduced to consumers. The 2018 model year is included in the second generation, and it brought only a few notable updates in comparison to the 2017 model year. For example, the 2018 Edge SEL trim level is now available with a sports appearance package. That includes 19-inch gray painted aluminum wheels, a grille surround, black window molding, a rear spoiler and other exceptional features that add to the look of the SEL's exterior. The Safe and Smart package is now available with the SEL, Sport and Titanium trim levels. This safety package provides you with rain-sensing wipers, lane keeping assistance, an auto-dimming side mirror, automatic high beams, a forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and more. For all trim levels, the 2018 model year is available in your choice of two new exterior colors, which are Lightning Blue and Blue Metallic.
Keep in mind that these new features and options that are available in the 2018 Ford Edge are combined with many features and options that carry over from the previous model year. For example, in 2017, auto shoppers could get 20-inch wheels for the first time on the Edge Titanium trim level. Also, Canyon Ridge, White Gold, and Blue Jeans were added to the list of exterior color options. These are all still available on the 2018 Ford Edge. Some of the other features that continue to be available include USB ports, the SYNC 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-inch touchscreen, powered adjustable front seats, a keyless entry feature with a touchpad, dual-zone climate control, Sirius XM audio with up to nine speaks and more. A visit to Fort Mill Ford gives you a fast and easy way to compare each of the trim levels available for 2018 and to check out their standard and optional features.
