 What's New for the 2019 Ford Fusion?

Ford's flagship midsize sedan gets a minor facelift for the 2019 model year, not to mention new features and updated powertrains. If you're shopping for a new car this year, here's what you can expect from the best-selling Ford Fusion. When you first see the new Fusion, you'll notice the updated front and rear fascia, revised grille, and reshaped tail lamps. Drivers also have several new interior and exterior colors to consider, along with two new wheel designs. The 181-horsepower turbo-four now comes in every Fusion trim but the base model, which is equipped with an inline-four that gets 175 horses. You can also opt for a 245-hp turbo-four or a 325-hp twin-turbo V6. The latter is one of the most impressive engines you can get in the midsize car class. Hybrid Fusion models have an upgraded battery pack with increased capacity for 2019.

Driver assistance features are now standard across the Fusion lineup, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assistance, blind spot information with cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and a rearview camera. The Titanium and Sport trims, as well as hybrid models, have been upgraded with adaptive cruise control that features stop-start functionality. Like the 2018 model, the Fusion has class-leading cargo space of 16 cubic feet as well as a comfortable cabin that can accommodate up to five. Every Fusion comes with Ford's MyKey system, the SYNC infotainment system with voice commands, and push-button start. The 2019 Fusion has a five-star overall crash test rating from the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration.
